KitchenAid Dishwasher Replacement Detergent Dispenser
This article provides detailed repair instructions for replacing the dishwasher detergent dispenser. This is usually because the detergent is not dispensed correctly. This dispenser replacement information applies to all brands, including Kenmore, KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Ikea, Amana Jenn, and Air Maytag. Tools: T-15 torx bit, flat head screwdriver.

Step By Step Instructions

It is essential to turn off your appliance before replacing the detergent dispenser. Use a Torx T15 bit to unscrew all the screws holding together the inner- and outer-door panels. Separate both panels and remove the door latch. Disconnect and terminate the wire connector. You can now remove the outer panel of the door.

Disconnect wire connector. Use a flathead screwscrew and a putty knife to pry metal tabs apart and hold them in place to remove the old dispenser. It may take some time. Install the detergent dispenser in the door by snapping the dispenser into place. Connect the dispenser to the wire connector. Connect the wire connector to the dispenser and install the outer door panel. Place the outer door panel onto the hinges. Connect the two doors together once the inner panel trim has been installed. Secure the panels by rethreading all screws. Turn the power on after the repair, and your dishwasher will be ready.
